Autopilot: the work that is already done when you arrive

The best way to handle a message is the one you never have to perform yourself. The autopilot takes over the always identical moves, and only those.

The autopilot settings in BoxBee with rules for filing and quarantine

Three jobs

  • Classify: every arriving message gets its kind and urgency, which is what the smart inbox builds on.
  • File: whatever clearly belongs to an ongoing matter moves into the right dossier without you touching it.
  • Quarantine: marketing and bulk mail land in their own area, not in the inbox. Nothing is deleted; you can look in at any time.

Why quarantine and not deletion

A spam filter that deletes is a filter you have to trust blindly. Nobody does, which is why people end up checking the spam folder anyway. Quarantine turns that around: it is a normal place you skim once a day or once a week, if you want to.

When you pull a message out of quarantine, the autopilot remembers that for the sender.

You keep control

The autopilot sends nothing, replies to nothing on its own and deletes nothing. It classifies, files and sets aside. Every one of its decisions is visible and can be undone with one click, and it learns from that undo.
